Our Story

Built By a Veteran Who Wouldn't Settle For Less.

Founded by a Marine who watched too many brothers and sisters in arms get shortchanged on the one benefit that was supposed to set them up for life.

The Problem I Kept Running Into

My name is Matthew Clanton. I am a career Marine Corps Veteran with multiple combat tours to Fallujah, Iraq. After being stationed in every corner of this country and dragging my family from duty station to duty station, I noticed the same problem show up every single time: finding a Realtor and mortgage professional who actually understood the VA loan, and who made buying a home feel like a homecoming instead of a fight.

That friction point followed me for years. So I did something about it. I spent the last stretch of my military career becoming a real estate agent, and subsequently a loan officer, focused entirely on educating VA buyers on the entitlement they'd earned but rarely understood. Since then, I've built a reputation as one of the most trusted VA Realtors, and Loan Officer, counseling thousands of service members and Veterans nationwide on how to get the most out of their VA home loan benefit.

The Mission That Followed Me Home

Here's what I learned the hard way: this problem didn't end when I took off the uniform. Every week, I hear the same horror stories from clients—agents who didn't know the first thing about VA loans, who cost them thousands of dollars, blew critical timelines, or simply didn't treat them like they'd earned anything at all.

That's not a coincidence. That's an industry-wide failure to serve the people who've earned the most from it.

So I decided to fix it, and not just for myself, but for every Veteran and military family who comes after me. That's why Project Valor exists: to personally vet and hand-select the right agent for your specific move, in your specific market, free of charge. No Realtors who can pay their way into the program, no referral fee buried in your closing costs. No secret agenda. Just a network of agents we've screened ourselves, matched to your mission, and eager to help.

Why It Matters Beyond the Sale

Homeownership isn't just a transaction to us—it's one of the most powerful tools we have to build generational wealth in the Veteran community, and one of the most overlooked ways to fight back against Veteran homelessness and suicide. When a Veteran builds equity instead of losing it to an agent who didn't do their homework, that impact doesn't stop with them. It reaches their kids, their family, their future.

That's the fight I signed up for when I put on the uniform. It's the same fight I'm in now.

The Bottom Line

I will ensure you're taken care of in a way that exemplifies the true meaning of "brotherhood." That's not a tagline for me, it's a standard. And it's the one Project Valor was built on 2014 Matthew Clanton, Founder, Project Valor
